[To say the past couple of weeks have been strange would be an understatement. Even though Belle had been forewarned about the kinds of things that happen around the time of new arrivals, nothing could quite prepare her for losing all her memories so suddenly, or getting them back just as fast. At least during that week she hadn't been aware of the mistakes she made and now that it was all over she felt too embarrassed to talk to anyone...besides Beast. But in that she really had no choice since she lived with him. But even so she's been careful to keep the subject of that strange week out of their conversations and-hopefully-out of Beast's thoughts as well.

So in the following week she takes to cleaning up there house, just as she told Beast she would. She wipes down every inch of it, clearing away the dust and the grime. And one day in the middle of the week she leaves the house to pick up some food to stock the kitchen. And she also makes a quick trip to the library to pick out a few new books to read and to return the others.

But this afternoon finds Belle once again at the library. She's standing in front of one of many bookshelves, scanning the spines of the books. There's just so many to choose from, she doesn't know where to start. She's mostly been reading stories she recognized from her own world, but she can only re-read those so many times before she's in the for something new. Finally she flips open her journal for the first time since the Shift and addresses the network.]

Good afternoon Luceti. For those who don't know, my name is Belle. And I was just wondering if any of you would be so kind as to recommend some books to me. There are so many I'm unfamiliar with in the library and it's a little bit daunting. I really would appreciate your recommendations. I enjoy reading fairy tales, if that helps. But really, I'm sure I would enjoy anything.

Well, it's probably best if you read Alice's Adventures In Wonderland first, if ya haven't already. Through The Looking Glass is kinda like the sequel to that one. The first book is a lot more famous than the second, but if you ask me the second book is just as good. They're both about this girl named Alice who ends up in another world, first by falling through a rabbit hole and then in the second book by going through a mirror. ... Or, you know, a looking glass.

Oh that sounds exciting! How many books about Alice are there? Just the two?

From that writer it's just the two, yeah. There's a couple movies based on her stories, but I'm guessin' you're only interested in reading about her.

Yes, that's right. [It's not that she wouldn't be interested in seeing the movies, or any movies really, since they sound so fascinating. But books will always be her preferred medium.]

Well, I think you'll like those two! And uh... Peter Pan is a great one too! Ever tried that one?

[She shakes her head.] No, I can't say that I have. What is that one about?

[She rests her chin on her hands and waits intently.]

[Oswald just grins widely. He thrives on having someone's full attention.]

It's about this girl named Wendy, who meets a boy named Peter Pan. Peter can fly because of fairy dust and he never grows up. He takes her and her two brothers back to Neverland, where she helps watch over the gang of Lost Boys who stick with Peter. And they fight the evil Captain Hook and his pirate crew! There's mermaids and Indians too.

[Belle grins widely, liking his enthusiasm.]

That sounds quite exciting. I'm very fond of pirates, despite the fact that they are often villains. I find their lifestyle to be very...liberating.

But I would never want to be one, of course!

Oh! If you like pirate stories, there's also Treasure Island! That one's a classic. It's about this kid named Jim Hawkins, who gets his hands on a map that'll lead him to the treasure of the legendary pirate Captain Flint.

Oh, you'er giving me so much to choose from. You must read a great deal as well, monsieur.

Awww, no. I'm a big fan of fiction, but not readin' itself, if that makes sense.

I think I understand. Have you ever tried asking someone to read to you? You might enjoy that a great deal more.

Heh, that would be pretty fun, but I like havin' images with my stories. Like picture books and movies.

Oh! Well I know a few books that have pictures. They'd be just the thing for you.

Yeah? What kinda books? Fairy tales?

Yes. Some of them are Fairy tales. But I've also discovered a section in the library with small books filled with pictures. They seem like very quick reads, which might appeal to you if you dislike reading a lot.

It's not that I dislike readin', it's just... I like other methods of telling a story better. But I'll be sure to check the picture books out anyway! It's not like I've got anything better to do.

Well, what sort of things did you do back at home? I'm sure not all of those activities are impossible to achieve here.

Lots of things! I'm a celebrity, you know. It's a little tough to explain, but basically it's my job to keep people entertained. So that's what I'm doin' here in Luceti too, whenever I can.

Oh really? What kinds of things do you do?

Well, I'm the guy arranging the Hydra Social project. It means I give a couple residents penpals, so they can make new friends. And on the fifth of September, I make sure Luceti has Oswald Day! It's a celebration with a parade and fireworks and everything.

Penpals? What are those?

[She tilts her head curiously. But at the mention of parades and fireworks she smiles.]

Oh that sounds wonderful!

Don't it? [He smirks proudly. Oswald Day is his new favorite day of the year, alongside Christmas.]

And a penpal's a pal you send letters to! Like, you get to know 'm better by sending messages back and forth, and askin' each other questions.
