[Belle woke up early in the morning feeling a sudden wave of home sickness she hadn't felt in months. But it wasn't Beast's castle that she longed for, but the small cottage she had lived in with her father and their small assortment of animals.

It's this feeling that brings her to the stables. She's only been here a handful of times since arriving to accustom herself with the horses and to take one out for the occasional ride. Things have been so busy she hadn't been able to come by recently.

She spends most of the morning feeding the horses treats and keeping them company. Eventually she gets one saddled and goes for a ride through the forest, though she's careful not to ride out too far from the village. People may catch her during her ride, or they may come upon her while she's at the stables before or after her ride.]

[After she finishes brushing down the horse she took out for a ride, she decides to sit down and pull out her journal. She has a question she would like to ask the village.]

Good afternoon, Luceti. I should also welcome all of the New Feathers who have arrived. My name is Belle. I have a question I would like to ask everyone, out of mere curiosity, nothing more. So no one should feel pressured to answer. But how many of you had animals you cared for back home? Or do you have any here in Luceti? And if neither of these, what kind of animals are your favorite?

As for myself, I grew up caring for my horse, Philippe. I suppose that's why I feel so comfortable around horses. I miss him every day...[She pauses for a moment before continuing, sounding more upbeat.]

Well, I'm curious to hear everyone's answers.

Bit of both, actually. Dream Eaters are named for what they do, and in the case of Spirits... well, they snarf down nightmares faster than a vacuum sucks up dust.

[As for the second bit, she's definitely got him there.]

It's funny, though, because I had more than enough time, but I kept spending trying to keep busy. Then I wound up caught in the middle of an adventure that's still not completely over, and by that point, there just wasn't time to sit down and care for a household pet.

[His mistakes and conflicts remain unmentioned because he'd hate to be a downer. Riku's life has been rough.]

You must have very peaceful sleep with a partner like that by your side.

Well, perhaps it wasn't something that interested you at the time. Even if you had the time to spare, there would have been no use in having a pet you had no interest in.

Yes. I remember when I was very young, and everything hadn't gone to hell yet, Rapture was something of a wonder. It was still a city, many problems, but it was beautiful.

You could try riding the horses we do have. There aren't many, but, I sort of like it when I go to the stables. It's been fun to try to learn it a little bit.

Well... I think I can agree they'd be better than people. [Daria: not the most sociable. Not even when she's trying.]

He sounds like a wonderful creature. [ Rapunzel can't help but think of Max, wondering if the two horses would get along. ] Maybe he'll show up here sometime! People's animal companions often do.

[Ponyta are beautifully cream colored, with fire as their manes and behind their hooves. Rapidash are just the same, with the addition of a horn on their forehead.

Diamond thinks he prefers horses.]

He... She? How do you tell? [He wants to pet her, too, but he's not sure if he can. But he'll hold out his palm the mare.] You're a very pretty horse.

Even around Galpos, there's not a lot of them... Back in my world. There's a lot of them in Sania, which is pretty far away from the big cities, so I hadn't really seen any until before I came back here. There are trains and stuff.

[Konan sounds mildly amused.]

She was given to me when the Malnosso turned me into a child. Still, she is a reasonably well behaved cat.

You would, huh. [Let's latch onto that. Sound imperious! Questioning!]

Sure do. He's a loudmouth sometimes, but I can't really complain when he's stuck with me for so long. The lack of nightmares is just an added bonus.

[And she raises a valuable point. Back when he was fifteen, he woulda been a lousy pet owner, anyway.]

Any pet I had back then would've had to compete with my best friends, too. I spent so much time with them out on the play island that it'd just be animal neglect.

Yeah! There are fresh water ones that just like to swim around. [ She giggles. She turns on the feed and points it to her tank. There's a small pool for him to rest and dive in that's surprisingly accommodating. On the cliffside, there's a a nice heating lamp, a bowl filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, a bowl of water, and a rock cave. There, there's a small turtle who's busy eating a strawberry, not noticing what Tenten's doing. ]

He's my little buddy here, and I think he provides some sort of security even if it's not a lot.

I don't mean to pry, but...it sounds like something terrible has happened to it.

Oh, I do. It makes for good practice. I wouldn't want to return home having forgotten how to get onto a horse.

Well, yes. If it's not too much trouble.

Not all of them. But there were a few who warranted names because of their big personalities.

It's a possibility. However, I've been here for many months already. If the Malnosso were going to bring him here I'm sure they would have already.

He's very cute. I've never seen one so small before.

Trains? It sounds like your world is a little more advanced than mine. We don't have trains. The only ways to get around are on horseback or a horse drawn wagon. Or walking of course.

She is very pretty. [Belle isn't about to explain how you tell a girl horse from a boy horse to a child.]

You can pet her if you like. She's very sweet.
