[Belle woke up early in the morning feeling a sudden wave of home sickness she hadn't felt in months. But it wasn't Beast's castle that she longed for, but the small cottage she had lived in with her father and their small assortment of animals.

It's this feeling that brings her to the stables. She's only been here a handful of times since arriving to accustom herself with the horses and to take one out for the occasional ride. Things have been so busy she hadn't been able to come by recently.

She spends most of the morning feeding the horses treats and keeping them company. Eventually she gets one saddled and goes for a ride through the forest, though she's careful not to ride out too far from the village. People may catch her during her ride, or they may come upon her while she's at the stables before or after her ride.]


[After she finishes brushing down the horse she took out for a ride, she decides to sit down and pull out her journal. She has a question she would like to ask the village.]

Good afternoon, Luceti. I should also welcome all of the New Feathers who have arrived. My name is Belle. I have a question I would like to ask everyone, out of mere curiosity, nothing more. So no one should feel pressured to answer. But how many of you had animals you cared for back home? Or do you have any here in Luceti? And if neither of these, what kind of animals are your favorite?

As for myself, I grew up caring for my horse, Philippe. I suppose that's why I feel so comfortable around horses. I miss him every day...[She pauses for a moment before continuing, sounding more upbeat.]

Well, I'm curious to hear everyone's answers.

I'm afraid you underestimate my abilities. Or lack of them, in this case. I don't think I'd be comfortable with something depending on me like that anyway.

[She'd feel bad if she did let a pet down or hurt it.]

[A part of her just wants to say "you don't even know me" but she holds that back, instead exhaling and-] Well, yeah.

I never did have pets back home. Just didn't think I had time to care for something when I had bigger fish to fry. But, well, you could say that's changed a bit since then.

[As he says this, there's the sound of screeching, and a strangely colored bat can be seen from the journal's camera.]

I wouldn't really call him a pet so much as a partner, but I had to care for this guy and a whole slew of other Dream Eaters during my last adventure. Not that I'm complaining.

Chickens are proving to be a bit more difficult than I imagined, but yes, I enjoy having them around. They keep me company. You're welcome to come over and meet them if you like. Tammy loves meeting new people.

I'm not entirely certain. I never bothered to look up what breed she is.

[She'd only really bothered with the essentials - getting cat food, a litter box, a water dish and a brush. The cat bed she bought was ignored in favour of a corner on Konan's own bed, the furniture, or Konan's pockets, when Angel was still small enough to fit in there.]

Angel is an all white cat with medium length white fur.

No. Focus. Calm down. It's just Belle. Just... beautiful... caring... understanding Belle...] Y-you're... y-you're welc-come.

[... Silence. Too much silence. D'ohh, he had something to ask, but now he can't remember. Oh, right! Right.]

I-I... did... n-not know Lu... ceti had a... s-stables.

No, I don't mind. [It was true, she didn't.] Being underwater was frankly the only good thing about Rapture. In that respect it was absolutely brilliant.

[She sort of missed that part.]

The usual sort of thing. Cleaning, grooming, seeing the beasts are fed, taking them out for exercise. Whatever you might be comfortable doing.

Yeah, no harm done! [ She dusts herself off. She's sort of used to bumping into people. ] I got sort of carried away. The river's nice this far out.

[ She looks up at the woman. ] Oh! I'm not sure we've met. My name's Twilight Sparkle.

[Belle is at first surprised by the appearance of this strange looking bat. But surprise is quickly replaced with interest.]

Dream Eaters? Is that what he is or what he does?

I can understand your past reluctance. Caring for another creature can take a great deal of time and attention.

Rapture? Is that what it's called?

I should like to see an underwater city one day. It would be quite a sight, I'm sure.

[Voice]

No, I'm afraid he isn't. I was merely hit with a bit of nostalgia while I was in the stables.

I have no other pets here. Beast, however, has Sultan. His dog. [Kind of.]

[Voice]

I suppose having a pet isn't for everyone. They are wonderful for companionship, however.

If it's alright, I would love to meet him sometime.

They can be wonderful company. Especially the ones with large personalities. I would like to visit very much. Perhaps I can give you a hand with the chickens.

[She patiently hears him out while admiring her flowers and giving them a smell. She discovers they have a lovely aroma. As most flowers do, of course. But these ones seem special.]

Oh, yes. I hadn't known about them myself until someone mentioned it in passing. There are a fair number of horses, all in good shape.

My father and I raised some chickens. I'm not sure if they would qualify as pets. They were wonderful company.

It's very nice to meet you. My name is Belle.

[Belle smoothly slips out of the saddle and leads the horse to the river for a drink. She smiles over her shoulder at Twilight.]

Is it the river water that has brought you so far out today?

Well...[She pauses a moment to consider.]

I've had him since he was very young. I shared him with my father, really, because he would ride Philippe to other towns to show off his inventions at the fair. He's very well mannered and intelligent. His coat is brown.

I'm...not sure what else to say, really.

None of that would be any trouble. I usually do most of that during my visits anyways.

[She nods and turns back towards the stables. She disappears inside for a few minutes while she puts the harness on one of the horses before leading it out.

She brings out a light brown coated mare who seems quite pleased to be outside. In her free hand she carries an apple.]
